The Costa Blanca Nobody Puts in the Brochure

The Costa Blanca Nobody Puts in the Brochure

If you've ever looked at a brochure for the Costa Blanca, you'll know roughly what to expect.

Blue Mediterranean.

Infinity pool.

Beautiful villa.

Woman in enormous sunhat staring thoughtfully towards Ibiza.

Possibly a strategically positioned glass of cava.

And yes, that version of the Costa Blanca exists.

But there's another one.

It's the one we actually live in.

It Starts With Coffee

Eventually, living here becomes less about finding the best beach and more about knowing where you're going for coffee.

You develop favourites.

The café where they know your order.

The bar where you only intended to stay twenty minutes.

The restaurant hidden down a street you'd driven past fifty times before somebody finally told you to turn left.

These places rarely appear in property brochures.

But they're often the places that make somewhere feel like home.

Markets Become Part of the Week

Friday might mean Pedreguer market.

Saturday could take you towards Xaló.

Sunday brings rastros, stalls and the possibility of returning home with an object you absolutely did not know you needed three hours earlier.

Every town seems to have its own rhythm.

Markets.

Fiestas.

Processions.

Music.

Food.

And an impressive ability to close precisely the road you were planning to drive down.

You adapt.

Eventually.

Then There Are the Fireworks

Nobody adequately prepares you for Spanish fireworks.

They aren't necessarily celebrating anything you know about.

It may be nine in the morning.

It may be midnight.

You may hear an enormous explosion and briefly wonder whether something catastrophic has occurred.

No.

It's Tuesday.

Somewhere, somebody is celebrating something.

You'll find out later.

Possibly.

The Mountains Matter Too

The Costa Blanca is marketed through its coastline, but turn around and there is another landscape entirely.

Mountain villages.

Vineyards.

Orange groves.

Walking routes.

Tiny roads disappearing into valleys.

Restaurants you'd never discover unless somebody local told you about them.

You can spend the morning beside the Mediterranean and the afternoon somewhere that feels a world away from it.

That's one of the things we love most about living here.

Winter Is Secretly Rather Lovely

We probably shouldn't advertise this.

Summer gets all the attention.

But there is something rather wonderful about the Costa Blanca once August has packed its suitcase.

The roads quieten.

Restaurants become easier to book.

Walking becomes considerably less suicidal.

You can sit outside in winter sunshine while friends in Britain send photographs of horizontal rain.

We try not to look smug.

We aren't always successful.

Real Life Still Happens

Moving to Spain doesn't magically transform everyday life into a permanent holiday.

There are bills.

Appointments.

Traffic.

Things break.

You will eventually spend an unreasonable amount of time trying to understand some piece of Spanish administration.

The supermarket will stop selling the one thing you've suddenly decided you cannot live without.

And somebody somewhere will begin drilling at precisely the moment you've decided to have a quiet afternoon.

It's still life.

It just happens to have considerably more blue sky.

And Yes, There Are Chickens

We don't know why chickens have become such a recurring feature of Renvida life.

They just have.

They appear in gardens.

They wander into photographs.

They become unexpected features of property listings.

At this point, we've stopped questioning it.

🐔

Perhaps they're simply part of The Renvida Way.

This Is the Bit That Makes People Stay

Beautiful houses matter.

Beaches matter.

Sunshine certainly helps.

But when people tell us they've fallen in love with life here, they're often talking about something smaller.

Their favourite café.

Neighbours who started saying hello.

The market stall they visit every week.

A walk they discovered.

A village fiesta they didn't understand but thoroughly enjoyed anyway.

The fact that dinner somehow starts at nine and nobody thinks that's strange.

These are the things you can't really put into a property search.

But they're often the things people are searching for.

Because somewhere between the Mediterranean, the mountains, the markets, the fireworks and the occasional wandering chicken…

Spain quietly becomes home.

And that's the Costa Blanca we'd really like to show you.

Property. Lifestyle. Real conversations.

Welcome to The Renvida Way.
